Today, in class, we:
Greeted students at the door with the gong challenge, using the threshold technique (see picture below).
Stamped the home work entry in the agenda.
Learned the procedure for asking to go to the restroom using the agenda.
Participated in the sacred naming ceremony for our new interactive notebooks (see picture below).
Formatted the interactive notebooks by
•Numbering each side of every page.
•Placing a title page on page 1 (see below).
•Copying the IB/HISD conversion scale on page 2.
•Creating Table of Contents on page 4 (see TOC below).
While students were formatting their interactive notebooks, the seating chart was adjusted.
On a sheet of notebook paper, wrote down the home work, using the standard heading for 6S (see below).
Went out to the gator to do the traditional "Jumping the Gator" to signify the beginning of our Tanglewood IB journey (see picture below).
Home Work:
1) Using any device you have at home, share the location of my website with your parents and my syllabus in the file below. Next have them sign HW 1 piece of notebook paper that you created in class today (see below). This is HW 1 and is your first grade in the course. It is due next class.

During the "Jumping the Gator" ceremony, students in my A5 class stand on the gators back and make a wish for their 8th grade self. With this, they are now part of the Tanglewood community. On the last day of 8th grade, they cross the gator in the opposite direction as they leave to join their new high school communities.
