Today, in class, we:
Answered a question from the DO NOW board using the Kagan Spinner.
Copied our home work from the home work board (see below).
Updated our Table of Contents (see below).
Created a vocabulary investigation for the term "archaeology" (see below).
Created a vocabulary list for archaeology definitions on page 95 (see below). As we discussed looked at real excavations.
Each cooperative team took 5 minutes to sort through a level of broken artifacts from Levels 11 through 18 of Shaft 13B at Tell Mesopotamia (see first picture above).
Walked through eight lightning stations in analysis teams to catalogue and interpret each layer of the excavation. (see second picture). The analysis sheet is available only in my classroom. We will use these to complete our inferences after Thanksgiving break, so hang on to your analysis.
Handed out HW 1 - Garbage Archaeology (see below).
Home Work: 1) Complete a vocabulary investigation for the term "archaeology" and glue it to page 94 of the interactive notebook (see below).
2) Continue to study for the SW Asia/N Africa Location test next class (see previous post).
