Conceptual Question – What does citizenship mean?
Debatable Question – Did the Greeks invent the idea that women were “property” of the family or did it reflect a bias throughout cultures and civilizations?

Add and complete the entry for the following terms on pages 15 an 16 in the Vocabulary Primer – direct democracy, citizenship

Complete all the activities by converting the multiple-choice questions into statements and writing them on pages 50 and 51 of your interactive notebook.
Answer the the factual, conceptual and debatable questions (from above) on pages 50-51 as well.
Ask you parents – How Greek are we? Tell them that you are studying ancient Greek citizenship. Ask them to describe the experience Have you served:
- By voting in an election.
- Stay informed by reading/watching the news.
- In the military.
- As a juror in in court trial.
- Worked for the government.
- Served as a politician.
Just for fun – Pretend that you are Socrates for an hour or longer. Question everything that your family member says. Remember the goal is to dig out the truth. If you are not sure what to discuss use my debatable or conceptual question above.
