
Lightning Stations - Students move to each of my 8 cooperative tables for a 3 minute visit. The must read and summarize on the lotus template. As students realize they don't have much time they get more efficient and focused. Notes will vary based upon the comprehension and capability of each student.
Today, in class, we:
Entered the classroom using the "Threshold" protocol, with a co-greeter welcoming students in a language other than English.
Answered the warm up question on the board.
Copied our home work from the home work board (see below).
Used the Kagan Spinner to select students at random to answer the warm up question.
Updated the Table of Contents for the interactive notebook (see below).
Added the terms, dictatorship and republic to the vocabulary primer on page 13.
Created Lotus Notes 4.9 -Two Koreas, using Lightning Stations (see picture above and lotus below).
Began the "Lights Out" inquiry with a cooperative team discussion to explore theories about causation (see resources below).
Collected the East Asia Mapping Project, by individual conference, and asked, for the third time, for missing parts to the Unit 4 Summative Research Project (One chance left).
Home Work: 1) Complete the vocabulary primer for the terms dictatorship and republic to the vocabulary primer on page 13.
2) Complete the "Lights Out" inquiry essay (see resources below).
