Unit 1 Summative Project and Cycle 1 Grade Sheet - Click on "Read More"
Today, in class, we:
Greeted students at the door with the gong challenge, using the threshold technique.
Wrote our homework down in our agendas for the DO NOW.
Watched and discussed CNN 10.
Faced questioning by the Spinner.
Updated our Table of Contents (see below).
Handed out and discussed the Summative Project called "My Journey Home" (see below).
Looked at examples of other students work from previous years for a low, medium and high quality project.
Handed out 11x17 paper for the students use on the project.
Activated the Glue Army to glue in the Map Standards to page 3 (see below).
Discussed the Map Standards.
Allowed students to begin crafting the research question and research plan on their Research Logs which are due on Friday (see below).
Students were returned all graded home works to update their Cycle 1 Grade Sheet on p 18 (see below)
Homework:
1) Continue work on the Research Logs which are due on Friday (see below).
2) Once finished with the Research Log, Begin working on the project map, which is due on Monday and Tuesday of next week (see instructions below).
3) If you have not collected your supplies for my class here is the list (printable version below).

2 Composition Notebooks (Not spirals, they are dangerous)
1 Paper notebook of any color with brads
At least 200 pages of notebook paper
Black ink pens (Used by other classes as well)
Box of colored pencils (Used by other classes as well)
Glue stick or bottle of glue (Used by other classes as well)
Pencils (Used by other classes as well)
